Marivel Lozano

Marivel Lozano teaches Spanish through the World Languages and Cultures Department at California Polytechnic State University. In addition to her work in language and culture education, she is deeply involved in the world of dance as a performer, choreographer, and director. Lozano is part of Ballet Folklórico Imperial, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and celebrating the diversity and heritage of Mexico through traditional folklórico dance, workshops, and community performances.
Over the past several years, Lozano has directed multiple dance groups, including Ballet Folklórico Corazón de la Costa, the group she founded and continues to direct. She also teaches additional dance styles such as contemporary, ballet, tap, and hip hop at KleinDance Arts. Through both language and dance, Marivel inspires students to appreciate culture, embrace identity, and build community through artistic expression.
