Dear members, 

A paid internship is being offered by UNICEF! As an intern, you will analyze data, examine research and government policies, and gather information from residents about the city's needs, Interviewing key city stakeholders and summarizing research. In our city, interns will play an important role in some of the most important decisions. Each child will benefit from the perspectives and expertise of the student. Are there any students who are interested in this? Could you please share it with them?


Candidates should be highly reliable, independent, and professional. There is a strong need for interns with an interest in key city-issue areas, such as education, the economy, housing, and health. Stipends will be paid weekly.

Interns will work 10-12 hours a week from March until August. Starting in February, interested applicants will be able to apply (tentative dates are February 20 - March 20). Gravity Water is a US-based 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization that focuses on providing clean drinking water to communities in developing countries by utilizing a unique, electricity-free approach.

University Program Outreach Coordinator (Cal Poly SLO)

Application Deadline: February 1, 2024
Duration: 6 Months (January-June)
Open to all currently enrolled students at Cal Poly SLO

Position Overview

The Cal Poly SLO University Program Outreach Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to oversee outreach initiatives and support community engagement by promoting Gravity Water campaigns to potential sponsors within the community. This position is part of the University Program and will report directly to the Chapter President.

Gravity Water is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated intern to support the growth of our organization and ensure Cal Poly SLO students and the surrounding community are made aware of our mission to provide clean water access worldwide.

Outreach Coordinator Roles and Responsibilities

  • ●  Community Outreach (~1.5 hours per week)

    • ○  Securing business partnerships within the local community to raise

      funds and awareness of the World Water Crisis

    • ○  Conducting outreach via email, phone, and in-person to gain

      participation and sponsorship to support Gravity Water and the

      University Program

  • ●  Campaign Coordination (~1.5 hours per week)

    • ○  Engaging student organizations on campus to participate in Gravity

      Water fundraising events

    • ○  Tracking participation and engagement efforts and metrics via

      backend platforms

  • ●  Club Participation (~2 hours per week)

○ Attending all in-person club meetings, events, and 2+ tabling sessions

per quarter

Estimated Time Commitment: 5 hours per week

Requirements for Outreach Coordinator:

Required Qualifications:

  • ●  Passion for facilitating clean water access for global communities

  • ●  Enrollment in a higher education program at Cal Poly SLO

  • ●  Some experience and interest in sales, marketing, fundraising

  • ●  Outgoing and positive can-do attitude

  • ●  Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills Desired Qualifications:

  • ●  Familiar with G-Suite (Documents, Spreadsheets, Slide Presentations)

  • ●  Experience and interest in motivating audiences to make decisions

  • ●  Experience in charitable fundraising endeavors

  • ●  Interest in pursuing a career in non-profit development, sales,

    recruitment

brought together in support of Gravity Water’s mission. This position is part of the University Program and will report directly to the Chapter President. Gravity Water is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated intern to support the growth of our organization and ensure the execution of engaging and successful tabling and fundraising events.

Events Coordinator Roles and Responsibilities

Executing Fundraising Events (~1.5 hours per week)

  • ●  Organizing and strategically planning four or more events throughout the school year to secure funding and raise awareness for Gravity Water’s mission.

  • ●  Manage collected funds and inventory and report results to the Chapter President. Tabling Initiatives (~1.5 hours per week)

● Scheduling fifteen or more tabling events on- and off-campus over the academic year to educate community members on the World Water Crisis and to secure memberships and event participation.

Club Participation (~2 hours per week)

  • ●  Attending all in-person club meetings, events, and 2+ more tabling sessions per quarter

  • ●  Fulfilling duties as the Club Treasurer as defined by club registration requirements to collect and track funds and inventory.

    Estimated Time Commitment: 5 hours per week
